Some days without recording for Love and X-mas but it is time to work again. So as I’m still awaiting for this Istanbul cymbal (two months now that I’m supposed to receive it) and Wuhan chinas, as well as a cabinet for my new Fender Bassman 70 guitar head, I’m still working on acoustic guitar recording.
It’s quite difficult to find the right sound indeed. I really enjoy the natural sound of acoustic guitars, I would like to make it sounds as it sounds in real, no effects, but there’s always something to improve isn’t it? It’s all about microphone positions, move it just a bit and your sound becomes horrible. But like for electric guitars, I think that I will go for simplicity. Maybe one track, but the best one.
I’m listening a lot to my favourite and inspiring albums to decide of the acoustic guitar sound I’m looking for. “Pink Moon” by Nick Drake, “Judgement” by Anathema, “Animals” by Pink Floyd or “Over” by Peter Hammill (this last one maybe inspires me the most, even for this fabulous drum sound!)
The last day of this year will be dedicated to recording the last parts of acoustic guitars and keyboards. I confess that I’m really impatient to start with the drum parts.
