David arrived on thursday from the other side of our country. We planned to record the drum parts for the first Spleen Arcana’s album in four days. We tune and set the drum kit in the evening to be ready on friday morning.
David and I are currently working hard to record the better tacks on the hard drive. Things are going pretty well and new ideas appear when we don’t expect it. We talk a lot about our influences, the last Dream Theater’s album, how Gavin Harrison can be a great drummer, the Phil Collins’s drum mistakes and so on…
Actually, “A Picture of Two Lovers in the Mist” sounds really really great, with a good rock’n'roll part! I can’t wait to record the guitars to make it sounds as it sounds in my head.
We also have done “Trample On Me” with a quite difficult to record end, “A Kind of Heaven” is nearly done and sounds really nice, David came with great snare fills which change a lot the mood of some parts (and reminds me of Ennio Morricone but I don’t really know why) and we are actually recording the double bass end for a huge epic final.
We have to record some parts for “The Missing Piece” (I’ll play on it the slower part of the album) and David will play a strange rythm on the bridge of the song. We need to add some parts to “Tears are Made to Flow” as well.
Ten hours of drumming a day is quite intense, so it’s all for now.

Super entrée de blog! La photo de David en plein jeu est assez impressionnante (ainsi que le nombre de mugs sortis! ^^). Ta description est alléchante, j’ai hâte d’écouter tout ça et de participer moi-même à ce passionnant et passionné projet. :)
