Some inspirationAcoustic guitar recordingAcoustic guitar recording

A very bleak and rainy day. The best way to start the acoustic guitar recordings indeed. Acoustic guitars is the main instrument for some songs, “The Missing Piece” of course, the short acoustic opening song but also for “A Picture Of Two Lovers In The Mist” which is mainly based on acoustic chords in the first half of the song and at the end. “Tears Are Made To Flow” requires also a lot of acoustic chords.

So I begun logically with “The Missing Piece”, setting up the recording with my Oktava Mk-012 in my Joemeek VC1Q preamp. No comp. No EQ. I find the sound quite good in a natural way. I’ll see later during the mix if I can add some brightness with EQ and/or reverb. I plan to record to tracks of acoustic guitar with two different mic positions.

I’m not satisfied with my actual takes but it was a first try (and mondays are always bad days isn’t it?). More work tomorrow.
