A new chapter opens as I’m writing this first entry in this new studio diary in which I’ll share with you how the recording of the second album is going. Actually, it will start quite slowly but demo recordings already begun in my new tiny home studio based in Paris. If I don’t have all my recording gear here, I must say that my new set up, based on a Toshiba Satellite laptop, an EMU 0404 usb interface and Cuckos Reaper daw, is amazingly efficient! Surprisingly, I switched from Samplitude to Reaper for recording and mixing without any regrets. I guess I’ll still use Samplitude to master my second album though.
I can’t wait to add to my setup my RME Multiface and my Adam A7 (I temporarily use some Behringer M16, no shame at all lol) to start working more seriously. Well, I guess this diary shouldn’t be only “gear geeks” oriented… So concerning music itself, it’s going pretty well. The tracklist of this unnamed second album is already found and songs are written. I worked quite a lot on two of them, songs which sound a bit like songs from my first album but in a different way if it means something.
I’ll probably spend the whole year to record this second album (which is rather fast compared to the first one) and this studio diary will be the best place to be kept informed about how the recording/creation process is going. Maintenant, c’est vrai que je rame un peu dès que tu parles matériel, mais je ne désespère pas ! Content que le Toshiba te convienne ; ils on dû faire des progrès car les 1ères séries étaient vraiment… “instables” !
Un an à enregistrer…. damned… un an à partir de quand…? de maintenant ? C’est pour fin 2010 ou 2011 ?
oh, et quid de la musique de LLM ?
En tous cas, j’attends tout ça avec impatience !
PS : honte à moi, je me suis aperçu que je n’avais pas “linké” tes news par RSS – chose maintenant faite !
Je vais pouvoir suivre tout cela d’un peu plus près !

Un an à partir de maintenant disons… J’espère le sortir cette année, si tout se passe bien…
Les Toshiba sont plutôt réputés maintenant, c’est une valeur plutôt sûre ;)
Pour LLM, ça n’est pas tombé aux oubliettes, loin de là, il faut que je m’y mette, ce serait vraiment intéressant de composer différemment :)
