At the moment, I own an ESI1010. I used the ESI1010 to record The Field Where She Died and it worked very well.
This card is the same league as the M-Audio Delta 1010. I chose this ESI model because I needed at least 8 inputs to record the drum kit. It did the job really well and I likeRead more
I finally changed my old nearfield monitor, two Alesis Monitor One, for two Adam A7.
It’s a huge change!! The sound is so much clearer, the bottom end is very tight and the top end is nicely detailed.
Those monitors are really welcome as I’m currently working on new songs…
The next step will be the remplacing of my ESI1010Read more
I received this morning the long awaited Tech 21 VT Bass! I was about to order a classic Sansamp RBI but I had to try the VT Bass! For The Field Where She Died, I recorded my bass through my Jstation plugged into my Joemeek preamp. I searched for a long time my own sound, kind of tube soundRead more
The MI Audio Crunchbox is probably the pedal that I use the most on The Field Where She Died. I took me some time to find a good distortion pedal, I tried a lot of different ones, I really likes my Marshall Shredmaster but I sold it and since this time, I was always searching for the right distortion forRead more
Voxengo is one of these rare plugin developers who offers high quality professional audio software at a really fair price. I tried their limiter, Elephant 2 some years ago and I just bought Elephant 3, released in September 2008.
Voxengo Elephant is a mastering limiter plug-in for professional music production applications. I tried some other limiters but Elephant, despite is name,Read more
Blockfish & Floorfish are two plugins from the Digital Fish Phones free “Fish Fillets” package. Blockfish is a versatile compressor, a kind of swiss knife of compressors (and you can remove the front plate to make further adjustments on the circuit board!!) and the Floorfish is a simple expander/gate. I’m using them mainly on the drums kick because I reallyRead more
I tried various flanger stompboxes, an Ibanez FL9 and a Boss F2 vintage for example, which are interesting but it’s just that I didn’t find the sound that I was looking for. Arion is quite famous for its warm chorus, the SCH-1, but less for its other effects like this SFL-1. I just gave it a try as it’s soRead more
I’m sure that you know this serie! The Kjaerhus Classic Series became probably the most famous free plugins actually. It’s now a classic for retro sounds! Well, I don’t use all of them but there’s always the Classic Chorus (on vocals for example), the Classic Flanger (on vocals, on keyboards) or the Classic Comp (on the snare) somewhere. I findRead more
I thought it could be interesting to share with you some of the free plugins I use the most. You probably already know them but it’s still a chance to talk about it. So let’s start with one of my favourites: The Pushtec EQ from Leftover Lasagne
I tried various free EQ but this one is the best to me inRead more
