Playlist July 2010

July heavy rotation. Old music as always apart from Ayreon, IQ and Zoe Keating. Do you know Zoe Keating? I discovered her music at an Amanda Palmer gig and her new album, Into The Trees, is absolutely beautiful – layered cello – music. By the way, I think that Magma’s last album is about to become one my favourite album of them.

So this is my playlist but what is yours?

  1. I’ve been listening to the new Marillion box set, and quite a lot of Fish too.

I managed to find my old Crimson Glory cds, (there’s a box set coming out apparently), and also the first two Saigon Kick albums as well.

    I can’t stop listening to Anathema’s “We’re Here Because We’re Here”, and Big Big Train’s recent re-releases.

And up at the heavier end, I’m still in love with Baroness, Nile, Isahn and Warbringer….

Oh, and there’s this http://mattstevens.bandcamp.com/album/ghost It’s the guitarist from The Fierce and The Dead, and you can name your own price…

  2. Oh yes, Anathema’s new album is really good, I need to play it more!!

And I just discovered the new Marillion’s boxset, a must have of course ;)
